Excelight®
IPL Treatments
The Lynton EXCELIGHT® is a certified medical device that can perform a wide range of advanced aesthetics treatments. Widely regarded by many dermatologists as the most clinically effective IPL device on the market, the EXCELIGHT® offers permanent hair reduction, and treatment for acne, red veins, sun damage, pigmentation, rosacea and anti-ageing.
How Does EXCELIGHT® IPL Work?
IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light and is a highly effective light therapy used for treating numerous skin conditions. Unlike laser treatments, the EXCELIGHT® can deliver more than one wavelength of light to the skin, making it an incredibly versatile device. The light emitted targets melanin, the pigment which gives skin and hair its colour.
During hair removal treatments, the IPL targets melanin in the hair follicle. Light energy converts to heat, thus damaging the follicle and inhibiting future hair growth. The EXCELIGHT® uses DynamicReflex® technology which enables the practitioner to adjust pulse duration, peaks and delay, allowing safe and successful hair removal on skin types 1-5.
For skin conditions, the wavelength penetrates different depths of the skin, giving varied results depending on the type of treatment. IPL can be used to destroy melanin-rich cells that cause pigmentation, increase collagen production to improve the appearance of wrinkles and skin tone, and damage blood vessels to eliminate thread veins.
The Interchangeable Light Guide (ILG™) uses a ‘snap in’ design to easily tailor the spot size for each treatment. This allows the practitioner to treat areas with precision and reduces discomfort.
How Quickly Will I See Results?
The number of treatments required to see results depends on the hair removal or skin treatment being performed. On average, a course of 6 treatments is recommended for hair removal and pigmentation, whereas thread veins can be eliminated in as little as 1-3 sessions.
What Does The Treatment Feel Like?
EXCELIGHT® treatments are gentle and non-invasive. Discomfort is kept to a minimum, with clients describing the process as mild and tolerable. The skin may feel warm and appear red after treatment, however, this quickly subsides.
