How Does Hydrafacial Work?
Using patented technology, a Hydrafacial gives you immediate results that make a difference. Throughout the treatment, we will use advanced vortex technology to thoroughly cleanse and deliver powerful ingredients to nourish your skin. This multi-step process includes several steps and we’re going to take you through them.
Step 1: Detox
Firstly, it starts with something everyone’s skin needs – a detox! Using a lymphatic drainage technique, we eliminate toxins to make the following steps more effective.
Step 2: Cleanse and Exfoliation
Next, we begin a deep cleanse and exfoliation. Essential to any facial, cleansing and exfoliation cleans the face, removing any makeup, lotions or debris.
Step 3: Brightening
In this step, a brightening agent is applied to the skin, which helps to enhance radiance and draw out anything clogging the pores as well. As you can tell, targeting the pores is absolutely vital! This step leaves the skin glistening, shiny and smooth.
Step 4: Extraction
Using specially formulated ingredients, blackheads and deep pore dirt is extracted. This step helps to prevent blemishes and clear the skin. When the pores are clogged, you’re more likely to experience breakouts and your skin may look dull, so this step helps to tackle this common concern with stunning results.
Step 5: Hydration
Of course, we can’t have a Hydrafacial without hydration! Moisturising and hydrating ingredients are combined to deliver that much-needed boost of youth to the skin. Hydration is essential to keeping the skin healthy and happy. If your complexion stays moisturised, you can keep the effects of ageing at bay.
Step 6: Rejuvenation
Finally, the skin is placed under an LED light to reduce inflammation and the effects of sun exposure amongst other things. This step works by emitting infrared light, which results in a reduction of wrinkles, fine lines, acne and even psoriasis.

FAQ's
Is the treatment painful?
Not at all! Hydrafacial is a gentle and non-invasive treatment that combines exfoliation, extraction, hydration, and infusion. Most patients find it comfortable and even relaxing. The sensation during the treatment is often described as a mild suction and cooling sensation on the skin.
When will I start to see results?
Many patients notice an immediate improvement in their skin's appearance and texture after just one Hydrafacial session. However, optimal and long-lasting results are typically achieved through a series of treatments, usually spaced a few weeks apart.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments needed can vary depending on your specific skin concerns and goals. In general, a series of 4 to 6 Hydrafacial sessions, performed once every 4 to 6 weeks, is recommended for optimal results. Your skincare professional at La Fuente Clinic will assess your skin condition and customise a treatment plan that suits your needs.
Is there any downtime?
One of the many advantages of Hydrafacial is that there is typically no downtime involved. Unlike more aggressive treatments, Hydrafacial does not cause significant redness, swelling, or peeling. You can resume your daily activities immediately after the treatment, and even apply makeup if desired. It's a convenient option for those with busy schedules who want to maintain their skincare routine without interruptions. However, it's important to protect your skin with a daily SPF (which you should be doing anyway!) in the days following your treatment as one of the steps involves a peeling action that leaves your skin especially sensitive.
