At La Fuente Clinic, when we mention skin needling, what we’re really talking about is Microneedling, which is a very popular treatment that involves the application of controlled trauma to the skin using a handheld needling device.
While there are several skin needling treatments on the market, they are all essentially the same at their core and it is merely the technology that differs. We use one of the most advanced Microneedling devices on the market, Focus Dual®, which is highly versatile and offers unrivalled results.
How Does It Work?
Skin needling involves the use of ultra-fine needles to create channels of controlled trauma across the dermal layer of the skin. These channels are highly precise and contained within the target area where your concerns are most prevalent. This entire process initiates a natural healing response within your skin, encouraging the production of collagen and elastin proteins as well as the formation of youthful new skin tissue.
Microneedling with Focus Dual® takes things one step further by introducing radiofrequency energy to the equation. This groundbreaking combination of technologies increases the production of healthy skin proteins while also applying heat energy to the dermal layer of the skin, leading to a tightening effect and boosting skin rejuvenation results.

FAQ's
Does it hurt?
You would be forgiven for thinking that skin needling sounds like a rather painful procedure when in fact the discomfort is far less than you might expect. Most patients describe the sensation as a slight scratching feeling, which is completely manageable.
When will results become visible?
While the healing processes triggered by this type of treatment get to work immediately, you will have to wait around 4-6 weeks until the best results fully materialise.
How many treatments are required?
This will depend on the severity of your concerns. For gentle skin rejuvenation, 2-3 treatments are likely to offer the results you seek. However, things like scarring and stretch mark reduction require more sessions, usually around 3-6.
Is there any downtime?
There is no active downtime associated with Microneedling, which means you can resume your normal routine right away. You are likely to experience some slight inflammation, redness and peeling in the first few days following your treatment, but these symptoms will be mild and should subside within a week.
